Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel has received some great news from Italy coach Luciano Spalletti ahead of the upcoming European Championship.

The 30-year-old shot stopper made his first appearance for the Biancocelesti in over two months in the 1-1 draw with Inter on Sunday evening, returning in strong form after suffering a painful ankle injury back in March.

Provedel again impressed for Lazio in the draw with Inter, proving why he’s considered the first-choice option under new coach Igor Tudor, who wasn’t led astray by the impressive backup work from Christos Mandas.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Spalletti contacted Provedel after Lazio’s draw with Inter to give him a pre-call up for the Italy squad ahead of Euro 2024, interested in making him the third-choice goalkeeper for the tournament.

The 30-year-old will now be hoping to prove himself further to the Azzurri coach over the coming weeks, wanting to confirm his spot in the squad for the European Championship.
